Hello, I am Sergio Mujica, Secretary-General of ISO. Today is the International Day for biodiversity, a reminder that nature is not optional, it is essential. This year's theme, Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development, reminds us that protecting biodiversity is not separated from economic and social progress – it is the foundation of both. 

At ISO, we recognize that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework requires integrated, practical solutions. And this is exactly where international standards make a difference. Through inclusive science-based collaboration, we have developed over 500 standards that can support implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework, and we are committed to doing more with the ongoing work of our dedicated technical committee on biodiversity.

ISO is proud to join this global campaign. As we look to the future, ISO stands with the global community, committed to build a future where human well-being and nature thrive together. Let's protect what sustains us. Thank you.
